DiveInBiome kickoff in Croatia and welcome to the new PhD student in our group ¶
Simone, Ana, and Iva met with Croatian project partners in Zagreb to launch the new project, Diversity and Interactions of the Chestnut Blight Bark Canker Microbiome (DiveInBiome).
In this new 4-year project, our new PhD student Ana Zuniga Diaz will explore the interactions of tree microbiota with the chestnut bark canker fungus Cryphonectria parasitica during the course of disease. The results of this study will contribute to the understanding of the disease and potential contribution of the microbiota to the biological control of chestnut blight.
We wish a warm welcome to our new old colleague Ana and are looking forward to spending the next four years together.
