Contents ¶
The Research unit "Biodiversity and Conservation Biology" investigates the influence of ecological and anthropogenic factors on biological diversity in its various forms. We combine field-based data collection with modern laboratory and remote sensing techniques to study genetic richness, species and habitat diversity, and their interactions. To support our scientific activities, we operate a molecular genetics lab and an eDNA lab. In collaboration with partners at the federal and cantonal level and internationally active organisations, we develop scientific foundations for evidence-based biodiversity conservation and the sustainable use of natural resources at the regional, national and international levels.
